BigXThaPlug has resolved one legal case while another remains active.
The Dallas rapper, whose legal name is Xavier Landum, pleaded guilty to a firearm charge tied to an August 2025 arrest, according to court records reported by CBS News Texas. He received six months of deferred adjudication and agreed to forfeit the firearm involved in that case.
That plea should not be confused with a separate arrest from August 2026.
What was resolved
The guilty plea stems from a traffic stop in Dallas in August 2025.
CBS News Texas reported that Landum pleaded guilty to unlawfully carrying a firearm and received a six-month deferred-adjudication sentence. He also agreed to voluntarily forfeit the Glock-style handgun connected to the case.
Deferred adjudication is not the same thing as saying every other allegation around the artist has been resolved. It applies to this specific 2025 case.
What is still pending
Earlier in August 2026, Landum was arrested in Allen, Texas on separate allegations including driving while intoxicated, marijuana possession and unlawful firearm possession.
Those are different charges arising from a different arrest. RRL is not treating the guilty plea in the 2025 case as proof of the allegations in the 2026 case.
The newer charges remain allegations unless and until they are resolved through the court process.
Why the distinction matters
Legal headlines around artists can become inaccurate fast when multiple arrests or cases get collapsed into one story.
The clean record here is straightforward: BigXThaPlug pleaded guilty in the 2025 firearm case. He received deferred adjudication. A separate 2026 case is still pending.
RRL will update this page if the newer charges produce a plea, dismissal, ruling or other material court development.
