Overview
Rap Recap Live ("RRL", "we", "us") operates media, Rap Check, RRL ID, artist discovery, submission, newsletter, partnership and related experiences. This policy explains the information we collect, how we use it, and the choices available to you.
Information We Collect
RRL ID account information
When you create an RRL ID, we collect account information such as your email address and authentication/account identifiers. Depending on features you choose to use, your profile may also include a display name, handle, avatar, city or region. Account creation does not automatically opt you into marketing email.
Rap Check and knowledge activity
We collect game sessions, answers, response timing, scores, play dates, XP, streaks, shares, referrals, question feedback and related activity. We may use valid scored answers over time to calculate RRL knowledge reads such as Hip-Hop IQ and category-level scores.
Taste and artist interaction data
If artist discovery features are enabled, we may collect profile views, follows, saves, ratings, early calls, listening-out clicks, shares and support-intent clicks. These interactions may be used to create a Taste Graph or preference model that helps personalize discovery and measure artist demand. RRL distinguishes these platform signals from verified purchases or verified listening unless we specifically have data establishing that outcome.
Integrity and technical signals
To protect game integrity, rewards, accounts and rankings, we may process technical information such as user agent, referral information, IP/network information and device/browser characteristics. Where the Rap Check integrity system stores device or IP-based identifiers, it is designed to store hashed signals rather than the raw IP address in the game session record. We also collect ordinary website analytics and attribution data such as UTM parameters, landing page, referring page, page views and button interactions.
Consent records
When you create an RRL ID, we may store a record showing the version of the Terms and Privacy Policy you accepted or acknowledged, the date and time of acceptance, confirmation that you met the account age requirement, the registration source and a hashed browser/user-agent signal for audit and security purposes.
Artist development, Growth Score and working-copy data
When you use RRL Artist Development features such as Artist Growth Score or the Bio + Positioning Builder, we may collect the answers you provide about artist identity, story, sound, platforms, releases, content, fan capture, professional readiness and business/revenue activity, together with scores, diagnoses, generated working copy, recommended actions, session/attribution data and optional artist contact information you choose to save afterward. Growth Scores and generated bios/positioning are private career-development working data, not editorial ratings, talent scores or endorsements. They are not automatically published to an RRL Artist Profile or used to guarantee editorial coverage, Underground selection or other RRL opportunities.
Artist, professional and partnership forms
When you submit music, apply for an RRL opportunity, request professional services or submit a partnership inquiry, we collect the contact, business, music, campaign, rights, budget and other information you choose to provide. Selected artist relationships may be connected to the main RRL Artist Profile and artist/team account record, but private artist-development data is kept separate from public/editorial profile fields unless an appropriate product flow and permission supports that use.
Newsletter and communications
We collect your email address when you affirmatively subscribe to a newsletter or other marketing list. Transactional messages related to an account, submission, inquiry, verification or requested service are separate from promotional marketing consent.
How We Use Information
- • Operate and secure RRL ID, Rap Check, artist discovery, Artist Development and account features.
- • Calculate Growth Scores, game scores, XP, streaks, knowledge reads, preference signals and product analytics.
- • Detect duplicate, automated, fraudulent or manipulated game and artist activity.
- • Personalize artist discovery and understand aggregate fan demand.
- • Review artist submissions, profile claims, partnership inquiries and professional applications.
- • Attribute traffic and conversions to content, campaigns, referrals and platforms.
- • Improve questions, editorial products, site usability, recommendations and commercial reporting.
- • Send transactional communications and, where separately opted in, marketing communications.
Artist and Fan Data
RRL keeps artist-development readiness, fan-response signals and editorial judgment as different kinds of information. A private Growth Score does not automatically change public profile status, editorial coverage, Underground selection or fan-signal rankings. RRL may show participating artists aggregate performance information about their profiles, such as follower counts, saves, ratings, early calls or trend information. We do not intend to give artists a raw list of fan email addresses or sell individual fan identities as an artist analytics product. Public-facing counts and aggregate insights may be displayed when the relevant product features are enabled.
Data Sharing
We do not sell or rent personal information to advertisers. We may share information with service providers that help us operate hosting, authentication, analytics, email delivery, security and other platform functions; with professional advisers when reasonably necessary; or when required by law or needed to protect rights, safety and platform integrity. When you ask RRL Connect to help find a professional, we may share limited project information such as the requested service, location, budget, timing, genre or project type with potential professionals so they can assess fit and availability. We generally withhold artist contact information until RRL is ready to make an approved introduction, at which point relevant contact and project information may be shared with both sides to facilitate the requested connection. Third-party platforms you choose to visit or interact with receive information under their own policies.
Third-Party Media and Platforms
RRL may link to or embed content from services such as YouTube, Spotify, Apple Music, Instagram, Facebook or TikTok. Those providers may receive technical information when you interact with their services and may use cookies or other technologies under their own privacy policies.
Children
RRL ID accounts are not available to children under 13. We do not knowingly invite children under 13 to create an RRL ID. If we learn that an under-13 child created an account or provided personal information in a manner subject to applicable children's privacy law, we may delete or disable the account and associated information as appropriate.
Data Retention
We retain account, game, integrity, artist interaction, submission and business records for as long as reasonably necessary to operate the service, protect integrity, maintain legitimate business records and meet legal obligations. Newsletter information is retained until you unsubscribe or we otherwise remove it. We may retain limited records when needed to prevent fraud, document consent, resolve disputes or comply with law.
Security
We use administrative and technical safeguards intended to protect information, including account authentication, restricted administrative access and integrity controls. No internet service can guarantee absolute security.
Your Choices and Requests
You may request access to, correction of or deletion of personal information associated with you by contacting RRL. You may unsubscribe from marketing email using the provided unsubscribe mechanism. Depending on where you live, applicable law may provide additional privacy rights. We may need to verify your identity before completing certain requests.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy as RRL adds or changes products. The updated date will reflect material revisions, and where appropriate we may request renewed affirmative consent from account holders.
