BloodHound Q50 was killed in Chicago early Sunday morning at 22.
Chicago police confirmed that a 22-year-old man died in an incident in the Fuller Park neighborhood on September 13. The Cook County medical examiner later identified the victim as Mikquale Cooper, the rapper known as BloodHound Q50.
Q50 had just turned 22
Q50 celebrated his birthday on August 6 and released Get Back or Die Trying around the same stretch.
His rise was closely tied to Chicago’s BloodHound movement and to BloodHound Lil Jeff, who died in 2024.
Q50 was still in the middle of his own run. His audience was growing, his name was traveling outside Chicago and he had only been rapping seriously for a few years.
Tributes spread across rap
Rolling Loud, where Q50 performed earlier this year, posted a tribute after news of his death spread. Others across rap media and the Chicago scene did the same.
His family also spoke publicly as the news circulated.
The investigation remains open
Authorities have not publicly established a motive, and no arrests had been announced in the reporting reviewed.
What is confirmed now is the loss: BloodHound Q50, born Mikquale Cooper, is dead at 22.
