Cardi B is already looking past her second album.
During a backstage conversation with The Breakfast Club at the 2026 iHeartRadio Music Festival in Las Vegas, Cardi said she plans to step away in November, after her birthday, and focus on recording her next project.
She also made clear that the album is still early.
Cardi said she currently has two songs she likes, but still has a long way to go. Her stated goal is to release the project in 2027.
The timing stands out because Am I the Drama? arrived after a long gap between studio albums. Cardi told the hosts she does not plan to repeat that kind of wait.
There is no title, tracklist or release date yet, so this is still a recording plan rather than a formal album rollout.
What is confirmed is the direction: Cardi wants to move into another album cycle much faster than she did after Invasion of Privacy.
She also has touring plans ahead, which means the next stretch of her career could overlap live dates with the beginning of a new recording period.
For now, the strongest fact is simple: the third album is in progress, two songs are already in the pile, and Cardi says 2027 is the target.
