The Cash Money & No Limit Tour has already produced its first real hometown moment.
One night after the 17-city run opened in Houston, the combined Cash Money and No Limit bill moved to New Orleans on September 12. During the Smoothie King Center stop, B.G. brought girlfriend Brooke Jones onstage and proposed in front of the crowd.
She said yes.
B.G. turned the New Orleans stop into a personal milestone
Video from the show shows B.G. telling Jones he did not want to do life without her before getting down on one knee. After she accepted, he even asked Mannie Fresh which hand the engagement ring belongs on before placing it on her finger.
It was a personal moment, but the setting gave it extra weight.
B.G. was one of the artists who helped define Cash Money’s late-1990s New Orleans identity. Doing this during a joint Cash Money/No Limit arena show in the city where both label stories were built connected his present life to one of the biggest legacy packages Southern rap has staged in years.
The tour opened in Houston, then came home
The run began September 11 at Toyota Center in Houston with Birdman, Juvenile, Mannie Fresh and B.G. representing the Cash Money side and Master P, Silkk the Shocker, Mia X, Mac, Fiend, Mercedes, Choppa Style and Mr. Serv-On among the No Limit names on the bill. Boosie BadAzz is also part of the tour.
Moving to New Orleans the next night made the opening weekend feel deliberate: launch in another major Southern rap market, then bring both catalogs back to their shared home city.
This is bigger than a nostalgia package
The appeal starts with catalog history, but the tour becomes more valuable when current moments happen inside it.
B.G.’s proposal is one example. It gives fans something new to remember from a show built around records they already know. That is the difference between simply replaying the past and turning legacy into a living event.
Cash Money and No Limit built separate businesses, aesthetics and rosters out of New Orleans. Decades later, those catalogs can still sell arena tickets, VIP experiences, merchandise and moments that move immediately across social media.
The tour continues through November, with Cleveland scheduled as the final stop on November 15.
