Drake’s Fear of Missing Out is no longer a mystery project. The film premiered Sept. 15, and the rollout now has two concrete follow-ups: new music appears throughout the film, and Drake says he plans to tour in 2027.
That changes the useful question around FOMO. Before the premiere, the story was what the project might be. Now the story is what Drake actually put inside it—and what he appears to be building toward next.
FOMO mixes film with new Drake music
The finished project is a surreal, self-funded film built around Drake’s recent creative world rather than a conventional narrative movie.
Pitchfork reported that the film includes snippets of new music alongside the visual sequences. Complex’s post-premiere breakdown also identified newly heard material and music tied to Drake’s recent releases.
That does not mean every song heard in FOMO has been released as a standalone single or added to streaming services. For RRL, the clean distinction is simple: the film contains new music, but a separate soundtrack release has not been established.
The rollout now points toward touring
At the FOMO premiere, Drake also said he plans to tour in 2027.
Pitchfork reported the announcement after the screening, while subsequent coverage described Drake as indicating that major shows are coming across multiple markets.
No full routing, venue list or on-sale schedule has been announced in the sources reviewed by RRL.
So the confirmed development is the plan—not a finalized world-tour itinerary.
FOMO worked because the format stayed unclear until the end
The rollout began with a title and date that could have pointed to an album, documentary, film or another large Drake release.
That uncertainty did part of the marketing work.
But once the premiere happened, the value shifted. The project now gives Drake another visual container for recent music, adds unreleased material to the conversation and creates a bridge toward the next live chapter.
That is more durable than the original guessing game.
What comes next matters more than another theory
The next useful developments are straightforward:
- which songs heard in FOMO receive formal releases
- whether Drake announces dates for the 2027 tour
- how much of the film becomes part of the next music cycle
- whether FOMO functions as a one-off visual project or the beginning of another campaign
For now, the mystery phase is over.
FOMO is out. New music is inside it. And Drake is already pointing toward the road in 2027.
