What Happened

Kehlani canceled Aug. 26 in Camden and Aug. 27 in Columbia, Maryland after saying severe pain and difficulty swallowing led to a hospital visit and she was not cleared to sing.

Why It Matters

The cancellations affect the first two dates reportedly called off on the current tour, with the team working on logistics and the artist saying she plans to resume in Virginia.

What Happened

Kehlani has canceled two consecutive dates on the Kehlani World Tour after a hospital visit.

According to a statement she shared with fans and reporting from Complex, Kehlani said she developed severe pain after two off days and was having difficulty swallowing. She said she went to the hospital and was not cleared to sing for the next two shows.

The canceled dates were August 26 at Freedom Mortgage Pavilion in Camden, New Jersey, and August 27 at Merriweather Post Pavilion in Columbia, Maryland.

Kehlani said her team is working on a solution for the affected dates and that the tour plans to resume in Virginia.

That is as far as the medical description should go. Kehlani publicly described the symptoms and hospital visit, but there is no confirmed diagnosis to add beyond what she said herself.

The Cancellations Interrupt an Otherwise Active Tour Run

Complex reports that these are the first canceled dates on the 33-date Kehlani World Tour, which began August 6 in Minneapolis and is currently scheduled through October 3 in San Francisco.

The tour supports Kehlani’s self-titled album, a project that has already given the run substantial momentum. “Folded” also entered the tour cycle with major recognition after winning Best R&B Song and Best R&B Performance at this year’s Grammys.

That context makes the timing frustrating for both the artist and ticket holders, but health interruptions do not need to be framed as a career crisis.

Two dates are off. The team says it is working on next steps. The stated plan is to pick the tour back up in Virginia.

What Fans With Tickets Should Watch

Kehlani’s team has not publicly laid out one universal remedy for both canceled shows in the reporting available so far.

Ticket holders should rely on the venue, official ticket provider and Kehlani’s own channels for any reschedule or refund instructions rather than screenshots circulating elsewhere.

For Camden specifically, Complex reported that RiverLink Ferry planned to automatically refund ferry tickets connected to the show.

That is separate from the concert ticket itself.

If either date is rescheduled, the venue or ticketing provider should be the source for whether existing tickets remain valid.

The Read

Touring leaves very little room for the body to have a bad day.

A studio session can move. A show has a building, crew, ticket holders, travel and a date printed months in advance.

When an artist says she was not medically cleared to sing, canceling the immediate dates and dealing with the logistics afterward is the practical move.

For now, the story is limited and clear: Camden and Columbia are off, Kehlani says she was treated at a hospital, and the tour is expected to resume in Virginia if her health allows.
