Rio da Yung OG has another full-length project on the way.
The Michigan rapper announced The World Is Yours, due September 11 through M.I.N.E. Entertainment and EMPIRE, according to Pitchfork. The announcement arrives with a new song, “Finna Drop (Tour),” and a video built around footage from his current U.S. tour.
For Rio, the release continues a fast post-prison run that has put him back at the center of the Michigan rap conversation.
What has been announced
Pitchfork reports that The World Is Yours is scheduled for September 11. A full tracklist had not been revealed at the time of the announcement.
The first new piece tied to the rollout is “Finna Drop (Tour),” which uses Rio’s current touring activity as part of the visual presentation. That makes the release announcement less like a disconnected press notice and more like an extension of the momentum already happening around his live run.
Rio’s return has been unusually active
Since returning home from federal prison in 2024, Rio has moved quickly. Pitchfork notes that he released Rio Free and F.L.I.N.T. (Feeling Like I’m Not Through) in 2025 and has continued rebuilding the volume, visibility and regional energy that made him one of the most recognizable voices in Michigan rap.
The World Is Yours is therefore not being introduced as a comeback from zero. It arrives after a sustained period of re-entry into the market.
Why RRL is watching this rollout
Michigan rap has built a national audience without losing the regional language, humor and production choices that make the scene identifiable. Rio remains one of the artists most closely associated with that identity.
The September release gives RRL a clean point to watch how a highly regional artist turns touring, frequent releases and scene loyalty into broader momentum.
For now, the news is straightforward: the album has a date, a new song is out and the rollout is active. What comes next is whether The World Is Yours expands Rio’s audience while preserving what made his lane distinct in the first place.
