Ye’s first night back at Soldier Field became more than a standard tour stop.
On Sept. 3, the Chicago artist brought out Big Sean, Future, 2 Chainz and Twista during the first of two scheduled Soldier Field shows. Complex reported the guest run the next morning, while Soldier Field’s official event page confirms the two-night Sept. 3–4 booking.
Big Sean reopened the G.O.O.D. Music chapter
Big Sean joined Ye for songs connected to the G.O.O.D. Music era, including “Clique” and “Mercy,” then performed “I Don’t F*** With You.” The moment immediately stood out because Sean’s history with Ye stretches back through one of the most commercially visible periods of the G.O.O.D. Music roster.
That made the appearance more than a random guest slot. It connected the current stadium run to an earlier chapter of Ye’s catalog and label history.
Future and 2 Chainz expanded the set beyond Chicago
Future also appeared during the show, including for “KEEP IT BURNIN” and “F*** Up Some Commas.” 2 Chainz joined the guest rotation as well, giving the first night a broader 2010s rap reunion feel rather than keeping the show strictly local.
The Chicago connection still mattered most when Twista arrived. Ye and Twista performed material tied directly to their shared history, including “Slow Jamz” and “Overnight Celebrity.”
The hometown angle is doing real work
Ye has played stadiums around the world, but Soldier Field carries a different kind of meaning because the catalog itself repeatedly points back to Chicago.
That is why the guest list worked. Big Sean represented the G.O.O.D. Music tree. Twista represented Chicago history. Future and 2 Chainz widened the era without making the night feel disconnected from Ye’s own catalog.
The show also opened with “Homecoming,” reinforcing that the Chicago stop was being framed as a return rather than just another date.
Night two is still ahead
Soldier Field lists Ye for both Sept. 3 and Sept. 4, with the second show scheduled for Friday night.
That means the first night’s guest list is not necessarily the final word on the Chicago run. RRL will treat any new second-night appearances as a separate update rather than assuming the first-night lineup repeats.
For now, the fresh development is clear: Ye’s Chicago stadium return opened with one of the tour’s most stacked guest sequences yet, pulling together G.O.O.D. Music history, Southern rap star power and hometown Chicago connections on the same stage.
