Yeat has released a new track that appears to put Travis Scott directly in his sights.
“ON NOTHING,” released September 4, repeatedly uses “Flame” language and other lines that multiple outlets have interpreted as shots at Scott, whose longtime nickname is La Flame.
The timing is part of why the record immediately drew attention.
The song arrived after Yeat’s verse disappeared from Young Thug’s “Eaters,” a track that also included Travis Scott, Future and Tezzus. Reporting around the removal said an unnamed featured artist allegedly demanded that Young Thug remove either that person’s verse or Yeat’s.
That allegation has fueled speculation around Scott.
But the cause of the dispute has not been confirmed.
Neither Yeat nor Travis Scott has publicly established the exact reason for the tension, and the identity of the person who allegedly pushed for Yeat’s removal from “Eaters” has not been confirmed.
What is confirmed is narrower: Yeat released “ON NOTHING” with lyrics that appear to target Scott, and the song landed shortly after Yeat was removed from another record that also featured him.
